zMAX CARS Tour Event At Ace Speedway Postponed to August 16

With Tropical Storm Debby approaching the Carolinas, the zMAX CARS Tour has postponed its event scheduled for Friday, August 9 at Ace Speedway by one week.

"Due to the impending forecast in the Southeast region in regards to Hurricane Debby, zMAX CARS Tour officials have made the decision to postpone this weekend's event at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, N.C," reads the series' statement. "The event will be rescheduled to the following Friday, August 16, 2024, with no changes to the original Event Schedule at this time. Practice will still take place on Thursday, August 15th."

Debby made landfall in Florida as a Category 1 Hurricane on Monday morning, and is forecasted to have impacts in the Carolinas for most of the week, including significant rainfall and the potential for flooding. The U.S. National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for most of central North Carolina from Wednesday morning until Friday evening.

The CARS Tour event, now scheduled for August 16, is a doubleheader featuring both the Late Model Stock and Pro Late Model divisions. The zMAX CARS Tour Late Model Stock Cars will also race on August 24 at Wake County Speedway. Both divisions will race on August 30 at Florence Motor Speedway.
