The team rosters for the 68th NBA All-Star Game will be revealed during a special NBA All-Star Draft Show, which will be followed by an extended version of the TNT NBA Tip-Off presented by Autotrader pregame show.
LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo, the team captains for the NBA All-Star Game, will be choosing their teams from the pool of players voted as starters and reserves in each conference. Their selections will be made without consideration of conference affiliation. The captains are the All-Star starters from each conference who have received the most fan votes. The 10 starters (five from each conference) for the 2019 NBA All-Star Game are determined by votes, 50 percent of which come from fans. The remaining 50 percent is equally divided between current NBA players and a media panel, with each having 25 percent voting power. These voters cast a complete ballot featuring two guards and three frontcourt players from each conference. Players have the freedom to vote for themselves or their teammates.

Once all votes are counted, players will be ranked by position (guard and frontcourt) within each conference for the three voting groups – fan votes, player votes, and media votes. A player’s score will be determined by averaging his weighted rank from all three voting groups. The top two guards and three frontcourt players in each conference, based on scores, will be designated as NBA All-Star Game starters. If players in the same position group have identical scores, fan voting will be used as a tiebreaker.
The 2019 NBA All-Star Voting, sponsored by Google, is scheduled to run from December 25 to January 21. Updates on the fan voting will be communicated on two subsequent Thursdays – January 10 and January 17.
