2019 All-Star Draft to air February 7 on TNT
NEW YORK — The NBA announced today that the 2019 NBA All-Star Draft will be televised by TNT on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. ET. The team rosters for the 68th NBA All-Star Game will be revealed during a special NBA All-Star Draft Show, which will be followed by an extended version of the TNT NBA Tip-Off presented by Autotrader pregame show.
LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo, the team captains for the NBA All-Star Game, will be responsible for drafting the rosters from a pool of players. These players have been voted as starters and reserves in each conference, and the captains will choose their teams regardless of conference affiliation. The individual who garners the most fan votes in his conference will serve as the All-Star starter for each team. Further information about the 2019 NBA All-Star Draft is expected to be revealed at a later date.
The NBA also announced today the third fan returns of NBA All-Star Voting 2019 presented by Google. The Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James continues to lead the Western Conference and the Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo remains on top in the Eastern Conference.
The final day for NBA All-Star Voting 2019 is Monday, Jan. 21, ending at 11:59 p.m. ET. This date also marks the last “2-for-1 Day” where fans’ votes will be counted twice on all voting platforms.
The 10 starters for the 2019 NBA All-Star Game, five from each conference, are determined by a vote. Fans have a 50 percent influence on the vote, while current NBA players and a media panel each have 25 percent. These voters fill out a complete ballot featuring two guards and three frontcourt players from each conference, and they can vote for their teammates or themselves.

Once all the votes have been counted, players will be categorized by position (guard and frontcourt) in each conference and within each of the three voting groups – fan votes, player votes, and media votes. A player’s score is determined by averaging his weighted rank from these three voting groups. The top two guards and three frontcourt players in each conference, based on their scores, will be designated as NBA All-Star Game starters. In the event of a tie in scores within a position group, fan voting will be used as the tiebreaker.
The NBA All-Star Voting 2019, sponsored by Google, takes place from Dec. 25 to Jan. 21. The final two updates on fan voting will be released on Thursday, Jan. 10 and Thursday, Jan. 17.
