Bulls' Lonzo Ball enters Health and Safety Protocols

Lonzo Ball will be sidelined due to COVID-19 protocols.

Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball missed Sunday’s game against the Indiana Pacers because he has entered the NBA’s Health and Safety Protocols, per the team. The Bulls beat the Pacers 113-105 as Chicago guard Zach LaVine played in his first game since Dec. 11 when he first entered protocols.

To date, Ball was the only Bulls player to appear in all 29 games before Sunday.

Protocols require players to be sidelined at least 10 days or record two negative COVID-19 tests in a 24-hour period before they can resume basketball activities.

The Bulls have been hit hard by COVID-19 protocols as Ball becomes the 13th player on the team to enter protocols this month. The NBA postponed three games in December due to Chicago players entering protocols.

Swingman Alex Caruso (left foot sprain) sat out vs. Indiana after being injured early in the last game against Houston. Caruso is expected to be re-evaluated in about a week.
