Game Recap: Clippers 89, Wizards 74

LAS VEGAS — The Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Washington Wizards, 89-74, in the first round of the Las Vegas Summer League Playoffs at Cox Pavilion on Wednesday.
This was a dominating performance for the Clippers, as they won this game in wire-to-wire fashion. A 31-15 first quarter set the tone for Los Angeles and they held a double-digit lead for the final three quarters. Rebounding was huge for the Clippers, finishing with a 46-32 advantage on the boards. Ball movement was also critical, with Los Angeles out-assisting Washington, 21-15. The Clippers also held the Wizards to just 38.2 percent from the field and 21.4 percent from three-point range.
The Wizards (1-3) had just three players in double figures, with Devin Robinson leading the team with 26 points and 11 rebounds on 9-of-13 shooting from the field. Troy Brown Jr. was the only other starter in double figures, as he amassed 10 points, four rebounds and two assists. Aaron Harrison led the bench with 12 points and three boards.
The Clippers (2-2) were led by Reggie Upshaw, who he tallied 24 points, nine rebounds and two assists. Angel Delgado totaled 14 points, 10 rebounds and five steals on 7-of-9 shooting. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander accrued 17 points, four rebounds, six assists and three steals while Jerome Robinson finished with 15 points, two rebounds and three assists.
On deck for the Clippers is a matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round. Washington will await to see who they play in their final consolation game.
