Knicks' OG Anunoby to miss at least 3 weeks after elbow surgery

NEW YORK (AP) — OG Anunoby has undergone right elbow surgery and the New York Knicks say the starting forward will miss at least three more weeks.

The Knicks announced on Thursday that Anunoby underwent an operation to remove a loose bone fragment from his elbow. However, details about when the procedure took place were not disclosed, and Coach Tom Thibodeau claimed to be unaware of it.

They also mentioned that his evaluation would occur in three weeks.

The Knicks climbed the standings following the acquisition of Anunoby from Toronto, posting a 14-2 record in January after he debuted in the starting lineup on New Year’s Day. However, he has been absent from the last five games due to what was initially identified as right elbow inflammation by the team, but was later updated to bone spur inflammation in the injury report for their Thursday game against Dallas.

A successful operation was performed on OG Anunoby to extract a loose bone fragment from his right elbow. He is scheduled for a re-evaluation in 3 weeks.
