Knicks' OG Anunoby to miss at least 3 weeks after elbow surgery
After acquiring OG Anunoby from the Raptors on Dec. 30, the Knicks won 12 out of the subsequent 14 games in which he played.
NEW YORK (AP) — OG Anunoby has undergone right elbow surgery and the New York Knicks say the starting forward will miss at least three more weeks.
The Knicks announced on Thursday that a loose bone fragment had been removed from Anunoby’s elbow through a procedure. The team didn’t disclose when the surgery was performed, and coach Tom Thibodeau said he was unaware.
They also mentioned that his evaluation would take place in three weeks.
The Knicks saw a surge in their standings after acquiring Anunoby from Toronto, going 14-2 in January following his debut as a starter on New Year’s Day. However, Anunoby has been absent from the last five games due to a condition initially reported as right elbow inflammation by the team. The diagnosis was later updated to bone spur inflammation in the injury report ahead of their Thursday game against Dallas.
