Vanderbilt suffered the injury on Feb. 1 during Los Angeles’ 114-105 victory in Boston. He scored 10 points with seven rebounds and three steals in 16 minutes before he was ruled out for the remainder of the matchup.
Vanderbilt’s defensive skills have been crucial for the Lakers, despite injuries keeping him off the court for the first half of the season. In 29 games, Vanderbilt has averaged 5.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.2 steals.
Vanderbilt’s setback is the latest addition to the Lakers’ increasing list of injuries. They are also missing Cam Reddish due to an ankle sprain and Gabe Vincent who is recovering from knee surgery.
