Trent Forrest tallied 10 points, seven rebounds and seven assists to lead the Utah Jazz to a 63-57 win over the Phoenix Suns in the MGM Resorts Summer League on Monday evening at Thomas and Mack Center.

The contest got out to a very slow start with the score tied at 11 after one quarter. The Jazz picked up the pace in the second and outscored the Suns, 25-16, to take a nine-point lead into halftime. The contest slowed down again in the third, where the teams matched each other with 12 points each. The Suns finally made a push in the fourth, but it was too little, too late, as the Jazz held on for the win.

In addition to Forrest, the Jazz had two other players score in double-digits, as Jarrell Brantley finished with 10 points, six rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block, while Paul White tallied 10 points, two rebounds and two assists. The Jazz shot just 36% from the field, but they made up for it by holding the Suns to 24% shooting.

Ty-Shon Alexander led the Suns with 16 points on 5-for-13 shooting in 23 minutes off the bench. Jalen Smith totaled 12 points, 15 rebounds and three steals, while Justin Simon was the only other player to score in double-digits for the Suns, with 10 points.

The Jazz next play Wednesday against the Dallas Mavericks, while the Suns play Thursday against the Denver Nuggets.
