LeBron James, Anthony Davis to sit out Wednesday's games
Two superstars were expected to miss games Wednesday night, with LeBron James scheduled to rest as the Cavaliers played the Pacers in Indianapolis, ESPN.com reported, and the Pelicans saying Anthony Davis would be sidelined in Orlando by a bruised quadriceps in his right leg.
There is no timetable for Davis’ return after hurting the muscle in Monday’s 106-105 win over the Celtics in New Orleans. The Pelicans next play Friday, against the Trail Blazers.
“He had no symptoms after the game,” Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry said before the game against the Magic, according to NOLA.com.
“I asked him about it and he said that he was fine. He came in this morning and it was a little tight and they worked on it and he felt fine. But he came back this afternoon and went to the arena and it tightened up again.
“So with those situations happening, you don’t won’t to take a chance on something on one basketball game.”
James is skipping the Pacers game on the second night of a back-to-back and after he played 38 minutes Tuesday against the Raptors in Cleveland.
