Injured Boston Celtics guard Malcolm Brogdon is expected to suit up for Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals, per ESPN’s Marc J. Spears. Brogdon had missed Game 6 with a right forearm strain and the NBA’s official injury report Monday afternoon had Brogdon listed as questionable.

The 2022-23 Kia Sixth Man of the Year had been playing through the injury for most of the series but appeared to aggravate the injury in Game 5.

Brogdon averaged 14.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game this season — all off the bench. In the 2023 playoffs, Brogdon is averaging 12.6 ppg, 3.7 rpg and 3.1 apg, but has fared slightly worse in the series with Miami (6.8 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 1.6 apg).

In Game 6, Boston’s reserves were outscored 22-11 in Brogdon’s absence. Also in that game, Robert Williams III went to the locker room late in the second quarter with a left wrist injury, but he returned in the second half and finished with 10 points and seven rebounds in 17 minutes.

The Celtics have rallied from a 3-0 series deficit to force Game 7, becoming the fourth team in NBA history to do so after losing the first three games of a best-of-7 playoff series.
