Bagley suffered his injury in the opening minute of Tuesday’s 115-99 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. He was helped to the locker room by his teammates and put almost no weight on his right leg after slipping on the foot of Thunder rookie forward Jalen Williams, which caused his right knee to bend at an awkward angle. He played just 56 seconds in the game before being subbed out for rookie big man Jalen Duren.
Bagley averaged 14.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game in 18 games with the Pistons. He scored in double figures in 15 of his 18 games with Detroit and was acquired by the team in a trade deadline-day deal last season involving the Pistons, Milwaukee Bucks, LA Clippers and Sacramento Kings.
In the offseason, Bagley re-signed as a restricted free agent for a reported $37 million over three years.
