The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Charlotte Hornets, 93-75, at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas during Day 3 of the NBA 2K24 Summer League.

The Lakers and Hornets went back and forth in the first half of the contest. Los Angeles enjoyed a strong start, but Charlotte evened things up just before the break to make it a one-point game at halftime. However, the Lakers turned things around in the second half and never looked back, winning the remaining two quarters by scores of 26-19 and 28-16, respectively, flipping the script and cruising their way to a comfortable 18-point victory thanks to an excellent defensive display.

Colin Castleton was the leading scorer for the Lakers with 21 points and 14 rebounds, while D’Moi Hedge posted 16 points and five rebounds, and Jalen Hood-Schifino recorded 15 points with five assists. Maxwell Lewis also chipped in with 12 points off the bench, while Max Christie added 11 points.

Five Hornets players scored in double digits, but no one surpassed the 11-point mark with Nick Smith, Bryce McGowens and Tre Scott all reaching that tally. Brandon Miller, the No. 2 overall pick of the 2023 NBA Draft, finished with 10 points while shooting 4-for-18 from the field.

The Lakers next play Wednesday against the Celtics. The Hornets next play Thursday against the Pelicans.
