A crisp shooting effort from 2022 first-round pick Johnny Davis helped the Washington Wizards earn a 105-89 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA 2K24 Summer League at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas on Friday afternoon.
The Wizards opened the game running hot on offense, leading to a 28-point first quarter that netted an eight-point advantage. The Thunder chipped two points from their deficit during the second period, but Washington’s lead was back up to eight going into the final period. The Wizards then imposed their will on both ends for much of the fourth quarter, closing the game out with a 27-19 edge in the last 10 minutes.
Jared Butler led the Thunder with 22 points, adding four assists and three rebounds. Ousmane Dieng supplied 17 points, five rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block. Jaden Shackelford put up 12 points, while the 2023 No. 10 pick Cason Wallace finished with 10 points, two assists, one rebound and two steals.
Davis paced the Wizards with 22 points on 52.9 percent shooting, including 75.0 percent from three-point range, and also produced three assists, two rebounds and one block. Seventh overall pick Bilal Coulibaly logged 19 points, four rebounds, three assists and four blocks. Ryan Rollins delivered 15 points, seven assists, three rebounds and two steals. Dejan Vasiljevic compiled 14 points, three boards and two assists off the bench.
The Wizards will now shift their focus toward a tournament clash against the Bulls on Saturday afternoon.
