NBA sets all-time records for attendance and sellouts in 2023-24

NEW YORK – The NBA set all-time records for regular-season total attendance, average attendance, percentage of capacity and sellouts for the second season in a row.
The 2023-24 regular season saw a record-breaking total attendance of 22,538,518, exceeding the previous season’s record of 22,234,502. Other records broken included 873 sellouts, a significant increase from the previous record of 791 in the 2022-23 season, and 71% of games being sold out, up from 63% the previous season. The average attendance also increased to 18,324 from 18,077 in the 2022-23 season. Furthermore, NBA arenas reached a record 98% capacity.
Today, the NBA unveiled new all-time records for total attendance during the regular season (22,536,341), average attendance (18,322), capacity percentage (98%), and sellouts (872).

Every true home game was sold out by twelve teams: Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets, Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings and Utah Jazz. Fans from over 150 countries and territories attended regular-season games during this record-breaking season.
In conjunction with the start of the inaugural Emirates NBA Cup – formerly known as the NBA In-Season Tournament – the NBA recorded its highest-ever average attendance for November (18,208).
