Nets' Ben Simmons to miss 2nd straight game

Ben Simmons last played Saturday against the Pacers, where he scored 9 points.

Brooklyn Nets guard-forward Ben Simmons will be sidelined for Tuesday’s game against the Chicago Bulls. The game will be Simmons’ second straight scratch due to left knee soreness.

The Nets will be without Simmons as well as without coach Steve Nash, who was fired by the team on Tuesday.

Simmons missed Brooklyn’s 116-109 win over the Pacers on Monday. The victory over Indiana ended Brooklyn’s four-game losing streak.

Simmons played 36 minutes against the Pacers on Saturday, scoring 9 points in the 125-116 defeat.

The Brooklyn playmaker, who has dealt with knee and back issues over the years, had surgery to remove a loose body in his left knee back in 2020. He is averaging 6.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and 7.3 assists in six games with Brooklyn this season.
