Knicks' Randle out 3-4 weeks with broken left orbital

NEW YORK (AP) Chasson Randle, trying to make the New York Knicks’ roster as a backup guard, is expected to miss at least three weeks with a broken orbital bone around his left eye.

Randle was hurt Friday during practice and a CT scan Saturday revealed the extent of the injury. The Knicks say he saw a specialist on Monday who determined that surgery would not be necessary and that Randle could resume full activities in three to four weeks.

The undrafted rookie from Stanford has taken advantage of extra playing time available during Derrick Rose’s absence for his rape trial. Randle has averaged 7.7 points in three preseason games, making nearly 56 percent of his 3-point attempts.
