Pelicans' Mirotic out at least a week with calf strain
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — New Orleans Pelicans forward Nikola Mirotic will be out for at least a week with a right calf strain.
The announcement was made by the Pelicans after an MRI taken on Thursday confirmed the initial diagnosis.
Mirotic sustained an injury during Wednesday night’s game against Detroit. With an average of 16.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, he was unable to participate in Thursday night’s game at Oklahoma City.
Already missing their star center Anthony Davis due to a left index finger sprain, the Pelicans were going into their third game without him.
