Sacramento Kings trade Garrett Temple to Memphis Grizzlies for Ben McLemore, Deyonta Davis
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — The Memphis Grizzlies have acquired guard Garrett Temple from the Sacramento Kings in exchange for guard Ben McLemore, center Deyonta Davis, a future second-round pick and cash considerations.
This past season, 32-year-old Temple achieved a career-best average of 8.4 points per game, with a 39.2 percent success rate from the 3-point range. The 6-foot-6 guard also clocked an average of 2.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 24.8 minutes per game.
Previously, Temple has been part of teams in Houston, San Antonio, Milwaukee, Charlotte, and Washington. Over his career, he has averaged 5.5 points, 2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game.
McLemore is returning to Sacramento via a trade, where he was originally chosen as the seventh overall pick in the 2013 draft from Kansas. The 25-year-old previously spent his first four seasons in the NBA with the Kings before moving to Memphis the previous year.
In the 2017-18 season with the Grizzlies, the 6-5 guard averaged 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 19.5 minutes. Over his career, McLemore has averaged 9.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists.
This past season for Memphis, 21-year-old Davis averaged 5.8 points, 4 rebounds, and 15.2 minutes.
