Game Recap: Phoenix Suns 90, San Antonio Spurs 55

LAS VEGAS — The Phoenix Suns defeated the San Antonio Spurs, 90-55, in Las Vegas Summer League at Thomas and Mack Center on Friday.
In the Summer League regular season, Phoenix clearly outperformed other teams, which was highlighted in their 35-point triumph. Their decisive victory was largely due to a strong second quarter where they outscored the Spurs 29-9. From that point, the Spurs struggled to reduce the score difference below 11 points, with Phoenix maintaining a minimum 20-point lead throughout the fourth quarter. The Suns also dominated in rebounds, winning 47-27. The Spurs only managed to score 31.4 percent from the field and 20 percent from the three-point range, compared to the Suns’ impressive 51.6 percent from the field and 40.7 percent from the long range. Phoenix also had more assists than San Antonio, leading 20-11.
Maverick Rowan was the only player from the Spurs (1-4) to score in double figures, contributing 11 points and two rebounds from the bench. Trey McKinney-Jones ended the game with seven points, two rebounds, and two assists. No player on the team managed to surpass six rebounds or four assists.
The leading scorer for the Suns (4-1), Javonte Green, scored 20 points, grabbed five rebounds, and made two steals, shooting an impressive 8-of-11 from the field. All this was achieved coming off the bench. Shaquille Harrison had a strong performance with 13 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and three blocks. Davon Reed contributed 11 points, five rebounds, and four assists, while Jack Cooley ended the game with 10 points, nine rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. Alec Peters added 17 points, four rebounds, and two steals to the Suns’ tally.
