Thunder's George could sit Game 1 with ailing shoulder
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Thunder forward Paul George could miss Sunday’s playoff opener at Portland with right shoulder soreness.
On Friday, Thunder coach Billy Donovan stated that the All-Star is being considered as day-to-day.
This season, George came in second in the league, scoring 28.0 points per game and leading the league with 2.21 steals per game. He has a 39 percent shooting average from the 3-point range and ranks as the team’s third-best rebounder.
George scored the game-winning 3-pointer against Houston on Tuesday, but he re-injured himself during the game. The pain was too severe for him to participate in the regular-season finale in Milwaukee on Wednesday.
George was absent from games on February 28, March 2 and March 3 due to right shoulder soreness. Although he has experienced issues with his left shoulder as well, these problems are unrelated.
