Thunder's George could sit Game 1 with ailing shoulder

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Thunder forward Paul George could miss Sunday’s playoff opener at Portland with right shoulder soreness.

On Friday, Thunder coach Billy Donovan stated that the All-Star is currently considered day-to-day.

This season, George came in second in the league, scoring an average of 28.0 points per game and leading the league with 2.21 steals per game. He has a 3-point range shooting accuracy of 39 percent and stands as the team’s third-best rebounder.

On Tuesday, George scored the game-winning 3-pointer against Houston, however, he exacerbated an old injury during the game. This left him in too much pain to participate in the regular-season finale in Milwaukee on Wednesday.

George missed games not only on Feb. 28, but also March 2 and 3 due to right shoulder soreness. He has also experienced issues with his left shoulder, however, these problems are not related.
