Krug to undergo season-ending ankle surgery

Today, Doug Armstrong, the St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager, announced that Torey Krug, the team’s defenseman, will have surgery for pre-arthritic changes in his left ankle. This will result in Krug missing the entire 2024-25 season.

The choice to have surgery was made after attempting to heal the injury through non-surgical treatments.

The Blues originally signed 33-year-old Krug as a free agent on Oct. 9, 2020. Last season, the native of Livonia, Michigan, participated in 77 regular-season games, during which he scored 39 points (four goals, 35 assists) and received 32 penalty minutes.

Krug has accumulated 146 points (22 goals, 124 assists) and 154 penalty minutes in 255 regular-season games over his four seasons with the Blues.

He has participated in 778 career regular-season games overall, including periods with Boston and St. Louis, accumulating 483 points (89 goals, 394 assists) and 374 penalty minutes.
