As part of NHL.com’s 32 in 32 series, the fantasy hockey staff has ranked the top five players on the Philadelphia Flyers and identified other preseason draft targets with point and win projections for the 2024-25 season.
1. Travis Konecny, F
NHL.com point projection: 75
Konecny was the leading points scorer for the Flyers last season, securing 68 points in 76 games. His 33 goals placed him in a tie for 27th position in the League. Despite not playing more than 76 games in either of them, Konecny has managed to score 60 points in consecutive seasons. His steady output makes him a top 60 overall pick in fantasy drafts.
2. Owen Tippett, F
NHL.com point projection: 60
Last season, Tippett led the Flyers with the highest number of shots on goal, recording 289 in 78 matches. He also secured the second rank in the team for both points (53) and goals (28). Given his potential, if Tippett plays an entire season, he could become a 30-goal scorer. As such, he ought to be regarded as one of the top 50 forwards in fantasy drafts.
Tippett scores his second goal with a backhand shot after spinning around a defender in the DAL vs PHI game.
3. Matvei Michkov, F
NHL.com point projection: 59
Philadelphia selected Michkov as the No. 7 pick during the 2023 NHL Draft. He is currently gearing up for his first season in the NHL. During his 47 games with HK Sochi in the Kontinental Hockey League, he scored 41 points, including 19 goals and 22 assists. As one of the most valuable rookies in fantasy, he is worth considering as a top 85 forward overall.
4. Travis Sanheim, D
NHL.com point projection: 47
Last season, he was fourth in points on the Flyers and led their defensemen with 44 in 81 games. Sanheim achieved NHL career highs in points and goals (10). He should be viewed as a top 40 defenseman option in fantasy.
5. Joel Farabee, F
NHL.com point projection: 56
Farabee has just completed the most successful season of his career, achieving a personal best in points (50 in 82 games) and goals (22). He was third highest on the Flyers team in terms of points and holds potential fantasy value if he can maintain his health. It’s worth keeping an eye on him on the waiver wire.
