The Chicago Blackhawks continue their 2024 preseason with a Friday night road matchup against the Detroit Red Wings at Little Caesars Arena. Fans in the local TV market can catch the action on Blackhawks.com, the Blackhawks App, or listen live on WGN Radio.

PRESEASON FACEOFF
Chicago dropped a 4-2 decision to the Red Wings on Wednesday evening at the United Center. Craig Smith and Teuvo Teravainen both found the net for Chicago, with assists from Ryan Donato, Connor Bedard, and TJ Brodie. Teravainen, making his much-anticipated return to the Blackhawks, gave Chicago a brief lead midway through the second period, before the Red Wings responded with three unanswered goals. Petr Mrazek stopped 21 shots through two periods, while Mitchell Weeks finished the game in net for Chicago.
Detroit native Frank Nazar returns to his hometown for the first time as a Blackhawk, while Arvid Soderblom will get his first chance to secure the backup goalie role with Laurent Brossoit sidelined. Several players, including Lukas Reichel, Landon Slaggert and Cole Guttman, are set to make their preseason debuts, while young players like Nazar, Kevin Korchinski and Nick Lardis will see action for a second straight game. Veterans Craig Smith and TJ Brodie will also return after contributing in Wednesday night’s contest.

TRAINING CAMP NUMBERS
The Blackhawks currently have 49 players in training camp including 29 forwards, 14 defensemen and six goaltenders. The Blackhawks opened camp with 53 players.
TRAINING CAMP TRANSACTIONS
Forwards Martin Misiak (Erie Otters), Alex Pharand (Sudbury Wolves) and Marek Vanacker (Brantford Bulldogs), along with defenseman Ty Henry (Erie Otters) have been returned to their respective junior teams.
