August 20, 2020 – The Islanders eliminate the Washington Capitals 4-1 in the best-of-seven First Round of 2020 NHL Playoffs with a 4-0 win in Game 5 at Scotiabank Arena in the Toronto bubble.

Anthony Beauvillier led the Islanders to a commanding series-clinching win with two goals, both assisted by Josh Bailey. Bailey ended the game with three points, including one goal and two assists. Nick Leddy also scored in the Islanders’ 4-0 victory. Semyon Varlamov contributed to the win with 21 saves, securing the series clincher with a shutout.

In the series, Bailey had the most points for the Islanders, totaling six (2 goals, 4 assists). Beauvillier and Anders Lee both scored the most goals for the team, each netting three. Varlamov had a strong performance, with a 4-1 record, a 1.59 Goals Against Average (GAA), a .935 Save Percentage (SV%), and one shutout.
