VEGAS (August 2, 2024) – Vegas Golden Knights Foundation President Kim Frank was honored as Humanitarian of the Year at last night’s Vegas Inc. Angel Awards. The 17th annual event, held at the Industrial Event Space in Las Vegas, celebrated Southern Nevada’s most significant philanthropic leaders.
“We truly appreciate this recognition of the work the VGK Foundation,” said Frank. “The commitment to give back to the Las Vegas Valley was established by Owner Bill Foley at the start of the franchise, and it’s shared by the Foundation and our staff, the players and team staff, and the fans and partners who give to our initiatives. Thanks to Vegas Inc. for this honor and congratulations to all of the Angel Awards recipients.”
Since its establishment, the VGK Foundation has given over $15 million to worthy non-profit organizations in the Las Vegas Valley, concentrating on areas such as education and youth sports, military and first responders, as well as health and wellness. Some of the notable accomplishments of the foundation over the last year include:
- The VGK Ball Hockey Rink is being constructed in Las Vegas, along with the implementation of several ball hockey clinics across the region.
- A sustained financial pledge to support Cure 4 The Kids.
- Assistance from UNLV student services following the tragic shooting on campus
- Contributions of gas, meals, groceries, toys, and more have been generously donated to aid the less privileged in our community.
- Local charities receive grant awards exceeding $300,000.
- Substantial backing for youth hockey and other youth sports
- Assisting in raising a new team dog named Maverick, in collaboration with America’s VetDogs.
- Support for various initiatives of Golden Knights players
Foley stated, “Kim is a worthy honoree of this distinction due to her relentless work for the Las Vegas Valley. She has played a crucial role in the Golden Knights since the inception of the franchise. Her contributions enhance both our team and the entire community.”
Frank not only leads the Foundation, but also serves as the President of the Folded Flag Foundation. This non-profit organization was established by Foley with the aim of offering scholarships and assistance grants to the partners and offspring of U.S. military and government personnel who tragically lost their lives in hostile actions or accidents related to U.S. combat operations.
Frank and the VGK Foundation are featured in this year’s edition of the Vegas Inc. Giving Guide.
