Yes, trophies are the currency of the sport, the prizes that drive a chaotic series of carousels that managers spend their lives riding. There's something to be said, though, about going into a place and simply making it better, which is a coaching characteristic for which Mauricio Pochettino became known earlier in his career.
In his career, Pochettino has collaborated with numerous legendary figures, including some of the greats. For instance, he played alongside Diego Maradona and coached Lionel Messi as a manager. Besides these two legends, there have been many other notable names he worked with, many of whom are stars themselves.
Many stars attribute their success to Pochettino, believing that he played a significant role in shaping the foundations of their careers. Pochettino’s tactical approach, characterized by its aggressive style, is part of this. However, most of it is due to his exceptional man-management skills, with numerous top players applauding Pochettino on his locker room management.
However, it’s not all smooth sailing for Pochettino. He has had his share of challenges, particularly his stint in Paris. His tenure at PSG was a humbling experience, teaching him about the complexities of managing a club that’s already at the pinnacle, rather than one striving to get there.
