The Dutch team has been performing well, in my view, yet England is highly motivated and has consistently found methods to accomplish their goals.

Despite a disappointing performance in the group stages, England managed to top their group with just five points. Their performance was underwhelming, considering they only managed a single victory against Serbia, Slovenia, and Denmark. However, they made a miraculous comeback in the Round of 16 against Slovakia, equalizing in the final moments of the match and clinching victory in extra time. In the quarterfinals, they fell behind 1-0 against Switzerland after a 75-minute struggle. Yet, England fought back and equalized, eventually progressing through penalty kicks. Now, they find themselves in the EURO semifinals for the second consecutive tournament.

The Dutch ended up 3rd in their group, yet demonstrated strong performance against teams like Poland and France. Though they lost to Austria, the group winner, they managed to beat Romania in the Round of 16, and Turkey in the Quarterfinals. The Netherlands team showed impressive scoring ability, netting 7 goals in their last 3 matches and 9 goals in total throughout their EURO campaign. They are a very solid team that I have been watching since the beginning of the tournament.

Will Dutch Take Down Three Lions?

At the start of the tournament, there were three teams I was focusing on – Spain, who has reached the final, and England and the Netherlands. The EURO Title Match will feature two out of these three teams. I’m slightly favoring the Dutch.

A sage individual likened England to the Kansas City Chiefs of the previous year. Their performance has been less than stellar, and their soccer has not been at its peak, but they are simply finding a way to secure victories. In bracket play, that’s the ultimate goal. It’s all about winning and progressing. However, I personally think England has encountered their toughest challenge yet. Despite having the most motivation entering the tournament, having ended up as the 2020 Runner Ups, their performance has been lackluster. They will need to significantly enhance their gameplay to overcome the Dutch, a feat which I don’t foresee happening.

The Dutch team has managed to score 7 goals in their last 3 matches and have only conceded 5 throughout the entire tournament. I personally doubt that the English team has enough offensive power to penetrate the solid defense of the Netherlands. The Dutch defense is rigorously manned by Virgil Van Dijk and Stefan de Vrij, and I anticipate them successfully thwarting the English attackers. Since the tournament’s commencement, I have been rooting for Spain to be the champions, with the Dutch as my underdog favorites. I have been predicting a Spain vs Netherlands final since the beginning of the bracket play, and I will be placing my bets on that outcome today.

In a similar vein to Spain versus France, we supported a team that demonstrated their ability to consistently score and effectively thwart their opponent’s efforts. Conversely, we doubted a team that had genuinely struggled with scoring and generating offensive moves. England has only managed to score twice in a single tournament match, which took almost 120 minutes, and they were just inches away from missing that chance. I anticipate the Dutch team scoring today, hence, England will need to net at least one or two goals to stay in the game. However, I am not convinced they can pull it off.
