Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix Predictions & Picks: Will Norris Help His Title Hopes with a Victory?
With three-time defending Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen mired in an extended winless run, the door has opened for Lando Norris to make a serious run down the stretch. To do that, he will have to make the most of opportunities like he has at Sunday’s Singapore Grand Prix (8:00 am ET, ESPN), where he will start on pole.
In qualifying, Norris beat out Charles Leclerc for his fifth pole of the season. The McLaren man scored a dominant Dutch Grand Prix from pole after the return from F1’s summer break, but that is his only win from pole to date this season.
Verstappen, meanwhile, will start second, just as he did at Zandvoort, where Norris beat him by 22.896 seconds to seemingly blow the title race wide open.
After shaving points from Verstappen’s championship lead in each of the first three races following the summer break, Norris is only 59 points back with seven races remaining. If he can cross the line first at Marina Bay, that deficit will be down to 52 points at minimum heading into another long break, with the series not set to resume until the United States Grand Prix on October 20.
Formula 1 Championship Standings (Through 17 of 24 Races)
- World Drivers’ Championship Standings
- World Constructors’ Championship Standings
While Norris is still trying to play catch-up in the World Drivers’ Championship race, McLaren has moved out ahead of Red Bull in the World Constructors’ Championship standings. With Sergio Perez crashing out late at last Sunday’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Red Bull collected only ten points in Baku due to Verstappen finishing fifth. Due to Oscar Piastri picking up his second win and Norris finishing fourth after starting 15th, McLaren collected 38 points, putting them ahead of Red Bull by 20 points, with Ferrari 31 points behind Red Bull.
At Bovada, McLaren is now a heavy favorite for the World Constructors’ Championship, and with Norris on pole and favored to win the Singapore Grand Prix, the World Drivers’ Championship odds could also see a change following the race.

Singapore Grand Prix Predictions & Picks
Lando Norris to record the fastest lap (+150 at BetOnline and Bovada)
In the three Formula 1 races following the summer break, Norris has recorded the fastest lap all three times.
Given the run that he is on, there’s little reason not to take these odds, even if he or McLaren engage in some self-sabotage and he fails to make the most of pole for the fourth time this season.
Franco Colapinto to finish in the top 10 (+175 at BetOnline and Bovada)
Two races, two impressive drives for Colapinto, who followed up a 12th-place finish in his Formula debut at the Italian Grand Prix with an eighth-place finish last weekend.
He will start 12th in the Singapore Grand Prix, so this one will take some work. But after taking just two races to pick up more points than Logan Sargeant amassed in 36 races with Williams, this is well worth the investment.
Lando Norris to win by the Singapore Grand Prix by more than 10 seconds (+175 at Bovada)
Norris’s two wins this season have come by wide margins. Along with his Dutch domination at Zandvoort, he beat Verstappen by 7.612 seconds to win the Miami Grand Prix in May. If he wins at Marina Bay, it will likely be another comfortable cruise to the checkered flag.
