Lynx vs Storm Predictions & WNBA Picks Today (7/12)
The WNBA face-off tonight is the last of four between the Lynx and the Storm for the 2024 season. It’s surprising that Seattle is favored by seven points tonight, considering Minnesota has previously won three times with an average lead of 13.7 points per game.
The Lynx secured two of their victories away from home, including a significant 83-70 win at Climate Pledge Arena on May 14. In this victory, Alanna Smith stood out with 22 points and eight rebounds, emerging as the top scorer of the game. Meanwhile, Napheesa Collier recorded another double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds.
This isn’t the first time the series has been uneven. After all, in their last seven matches against the Storm, no matter the location, the Lynx have a 6-1 straight up record.
With back-to-back wins over the Washington Mystics and Los Angeles Sparks, the Lynx are returning to Seattle with some momentum. On the other hand, the Storm have lost two out of their last three home games, including a second-half collapse against the Las Vegas Aces just two days ago.
Will the Storm’s struggles at home continue against the Lynx tonight?
The Lynx will likely be without a key player tonight as Napheesa Collier is doubtful due to a foot injury. The 27-year-old All-Star has easily been Minnesota’s best player this season as she paces her teammates in points (20.0), rebounds (10.2), steals (2.2), and field goals made(7.7).
That being said, the Lynx have won both games since Collier last participated, and only time will tell if this trend continues.
The Storm are fully fit going into tonight’s game, so it’s their responsibility to capitalize on the Lynx’s injury predicament.
Do the Lynx have what it takes to beat the Storm if Napheesa Collier (foot) doesn’t suit up tonight?
Even without Collier, I’m still taking the Lynx to win today. They’ve beaten the Storm three straight times this season for a reason, which is a streak that could continue based on Seattle’s recent home play. It’ll be a closer game if Collier doesn’t play, however, Minnesota has what it takes to win either way.
I also recommend backing the Lynx on the 7-point spread. Again, Minnesota has outscored Seattle by nearly 14 points per meeting this season. Even without Collier playing, the visitors are more than talented enough to keep things closer than the oddsmakers project, regardless of whether they pull off the upset or not.

There are a few solid Lynx vs. Storm player props available tonight, including Alanna Smith o5.5 total rebounds (-129).
Since mid-June, Smith has been a reliable rebounding force for the Lynx. The Australian forward has averaged 6.1 rebounds in her last 10 games, going over seven times.
