They are only two games behind the Mariners in the AL West and I predict they will begin this series on a high note.
Before their Wednesday loss to the Angels, Texas had a streak of five wins. However, they’ve had a difficult time on the road this year. With the upcoming break after this series, it’s possible the Rangers might be preoccupied with thoughts of their vacation. They’ve returned to Texas from California, but had to head to Houston before they could actually go home.
Andrew Heaney has faced the Astros twice, allowing 8 runs from 8 hits and 7 walks in just 7.1 innings. Both of these games ended in Houston’s victory. Despite coming from a decent start, Heaney might struggle tonight as the Astros have the best home and overall team average, implying they could score several hits and runs. Hunter Brown also had a tough game against the Rangers, starting the season poorly. Nevertheless, he has recently improved, winning four consecutive starts and only allowing 1 run, a solo home run, in 25 innings. I predict he’ll perform well at home tonight against the Rangers.
